This course offers a hands-on experience in traditional leathercraft techniques, starting with the basics of leatherworking and building up to more advanced skills. You will be introduced to the essential tools of the trade and learn how to use them with precision. You will also learn how to design an original pattern and cut the leather to your desired shape and size.
 

The focus of the course is on teaching hand sewing, which is a fundamental skill in leathercraft. You will learn how to mark the stitching lines, pierce holes with an awl, and sew the leather using a strong waxed thread and a needle. You will also learn how to finish the leather by trimming the excess thread and knotting the end.
 

Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to put your new skills into practice by creating one project, such as a belt, belt pouch, a small card holder, a coin purse, a small pouch, a tablet pouch or a cell phone holder.
